Thankyou so much for my first ribbon with my DSLR, and for all the comments.
I have to admit that the photo really doesn't do a lot for me, and I really wasn't expecting it to do well at all!
It was a bit of a rushed job, and I realised the next day that there's a bit of a slant to it which really bothers me. Ah well. I did wonder if the reason people liked it is because of the title, which sometimes people use to allude to female sexuality. I only really thought about this after I submitted the shot, and noticed the shape of the archway...

It's been a particularly good day so far because a few minutes ago, the Glastonbury Festival organisers just phoned me up and told me that I've won tickets for the festival worth about £250 which I've been unable to buy as the demand was so high. About 250,000 tickets sold out within 2 hours last month when they were released. People sell their grannies to be able to buy the tickets. I had been a runner up (special mention) for tickets when they held a photo competition for last year's photos, but one of the winners was caught being naughty selling their tickets on EBay, so I was offered them instead!

Anyway, here are some of the other photos I took on my day out at Thorp Perrow Arboretum, where I took 'Secret Garden'.

The bluebells look fantastic when it rains.

The above shots were taken with my Tokina 24-200mm, I can't tell you how much I like the fact that I can have image stabilisation with this lens and not carry about a tripod. See the following shot taken the same day to see how effective this is:

Taken at 1/2 second handheld at 120mm

I used my REALLY cheap Minolta 75-300 for the following shot, and this is a really small crop from the full-res file. The sharpness is pretty impressive.

Very impressive shots here, Bobster! The bluebells with other photographer in the frame is an oustanding composition and well seen. Congratulations on the blue for Secrrt Garden. I shoot a Dimage7 and am considering upgrading to the Maxxum7D. I had been wanting a field report on it from someone not working for Minolta or a store that sells it. Your shots make an impressive statement about the camera. Thanks.

Thanks. I love the 7D, which really suits my needs better than any other camera. If you already own Minolta glass, and don't shoot sports or need high continuous frame rates, there's no choice at all.

I agree with Bobster...

But I don't want to scare people away with anti-Nikon/Canon sentiment, so feel free to carry on the thread while ignoring this issue!

This would work well as a watercolour. Very nice colours and composition.
