Take a photograph that has a picture within a picture. Try to use objects in your picture to frame your subject without forgetting about the rest of your photograph. Remember all parts of the frame need to work together and at the same time should be able to stand on their own.

This should bring the number of submissions down. ;)

Not asking for a rating, but would something like this "qualify?"

i'd say that would qualify

Yes! I think this would be a great challenge. You can use all kinds of ways to frame your shot ... out of a car window, out of a tunnel, between branches. You can get really creative. Let's do it.

I looked at your gallery of photos. I liked what I saw. My questions to you is how did you get the copyright symbol and your title on the image? I'm new and don't know all of the tricks yet to prevent unauthorized use of my images.

IGJOE,

Hopefully someone can give you an answer to this (as I am looking for an easy way to do the same thing myself), but I wanted to make sure that you are aware that you should not add any text (including a copyright notice) to a DPChallenge entry. Addition of text is considered a spot-edit and is subject to disqualification.

You may already be aware of this but I would hate for you to find out the hard way.

When I add type for photos intended for printing or "public" display I just use the type tool in Photoshop; in native format it will stay on its own layer in case editing is needed. I almost always create borders and put the type over that.

After everything looks right, I "flatten" the layers, save in TIFF format, then save that as JPEG.

I like this idea for a challenge very much.

Yes that would work.

I'd like to see people push the idea a bit more though. Don't just go for a picture with one object in the middle being framed. Instead go for a picture that has divisible sections, where each section is its own picture, yet together it makes a whole. I wish I had a good sample of what I'm thinking about but I'm still trying to get this type of picture myself.
