Hey everyone, I'd like to thank everyone who commented and voted on my picture 'Anger Unleashed'

I'm glad I was able to win with a darker, more processed image that sticks with my style.

I was wondering, does anyone happen to know if there are any other ribbon winners that won with a lower mega pixel camera than mine?
And... What's the youngest age of a ribbon winner... Blue ribbon winner?

The reason I am asking is because I am definatly curious and I'd also like to take a gander at their profile

Thanks

Your image is simply striking. For a young man, the feat is more amazing because we are looking at the unfoldment of a wonderful talent. Now, do not let this go to your head. Go and surpass this image.

Absolutely brilliant! In all your work but especially this one. I could not believe it when I saw it. I knew right away, "That can only be Joey!" I'm pleased the rest of DPC went along with your vision that, like I've said before, is truly unique. All of the very good shots you posted have that signature.
I hope this picture will be seen outside of the DPC community. I'm thinking album cover. If I was still in a band, I'd use it right away (with permission from the author of course).
Congradulations again!

A big fan

-Simon

I think you're a great, young talent, Joey. And a Canadian too! I hope you keep at photography and/or whatever other creative mediums catch your fancy.

First off, a big congratulations to you Joey.
I see the megapixel part is well answered, but as far as the youngest Blue Ribbon winner, Off the top of my head, it may come down to counting the days of difference between you and Tranquil, who also got his first Blue at the age of 15.
Great job, both of you!

" WOW, A work of art!!!"

For someone who has always had "a good eye" and a real love for photography, this old man is still trying to find a distinguishing style; while you have not only found one at 15, but are honing it day by day with youthful enthusiasm and a mature determination. This blows my mind!

I note film is your eventual goal. I have the feeling you will do well there. A still photography foundation will be of substantial benefit to you in this endeavor. Be it cinematography, directing, producing, anything you wish to become in that genre, the visual nature of composition will always be the most transcendant element of onscreen storytelling.

I will remember the name Joey Lawrence and that, hopefully, something here gave him some encouragement.

Hopefully you won't change your name when you become a famous director or some-such.

Congratulations Joey!!!!
One of the things I admire the most of your work is that you pre visualize your image and then go shoot it; I think that's the key to your unique style.
You also showed us that to be a great artist you don't need fancy tools.
Keep up your good work and thanks for sharing your work with us.

Thanks everyone for the most encouraging comments.

It's true I'd like to get into the film industry. I make more 'movies' than photographs... But it's all related. Maybe I'll post some stills sometime.

I was 15 when I won my first blue ribbon with this shot:

Unfortunately it was DQd so I guess it doesn't count!
My next blue was this one which I won when I was 16:

Congrats on your first blue of many if you keep on like this! :)
