I ordered on dell a few weeks ago but got fed up with them pushing back my order so I cancelled it and ordered from pcnation on tuesday, ended up costing $910 for the black body + kit lens and free 2 -3 day shipping.

I am so excited to try it out but I have art class from 1-5 so I guess I'll just charge it up in the meantime. SOOOOOO excited!

Awesome.. there is nothing like that "new camera" excitement.

It wears off.. (has for me mostly).. but with SLRs.. you can always get it back by buying MORE LENSES!! MUWAHAHAHAHA

It does wear off and when you become disappointed with the kit leanse and HAVE to buy a new different lense then you get the feeling BACK.

I'm not realy dissapointed by the kit lens, as long as you know how and when to use it, it's fairly OK.
I've shot some realy nice pictures with it.

Don't worry too much, if you get the "must buy new lens" virus, the best lens you can own, the 50mm f1.8 is around 80-90$.

Well, you canon people get disappointed with the kit lenses I guess.. but the Pentax' is pretty darned good.

Nah it looks just as limiting as the 18-55 kit lense.

limiting? I guess.. if you don't like to physically move around to frame a subject..

Nothing beats a prime lens for quality though. My 50mm f/1.7 is a little gem of a lens that far surpasses anything else I have.

WOW -I had always thought you already had a DSLR based on the quality of your work. Watch out world - the man really has power now! (Not to say that us non-DLR owners don't rock in our own little way . . . LOL.)

Hey Congrats!
I got mine a few weeks ago, and am in love with it, although I am already feeling the new lens desire. It makes me happy to know there are still more things to buy!

Congrats!

Did you end up paying much more? What was the initial price tag?

05/05/2005 02:34:41 PM · #14
Speaking of which, I need to contact Dell...

I ordered a battery for my 20D. Like April 14th, it's now been pushed back to May 25th.

???

I got a decent price on my 20D from Dell (sadly, the next week Canon released rebates but I still did better). But man...there service sucks!

Watch...your scores plummet the first few challenges. But once this guy get's used to it - watch out world!

I am still not sure if I fear BradP armed with a new DSLR or long for it. *lol* (actually the latter...i think he'd be dangerous with a 400mm lens).

For those of you looking to get one, I got mine from Henry's, and I didn't have to wait at all. I had it 2 days after placing the order. It is a very reputable company. I was very happy with the service. Check it out at: //www.henrys.com

STANDS UP FOR "Olympus E-20" RIGHTS

The E-20N is an SLR, it's just a fixed lens system....!!!
