I think this would be an interesting challenge.
It could be a studio set-up job, or an outdoors thing, but it will make people think about camera angles, light, and all that to make the false object look real.

A classic example are the age old holiday snapshots with someone looking as if they are holding up the Leaning Tower or Piza!

That is the general idea but you would have to spot edit the branch to make it really work.
