| Anyone mention Chris Isaak yet? I've heard that rif before kinda sounds like something Chris might do. |

I'm thinking Smokey Robinson... although I'm not well versed enough to know if this little riff appears in the songs he did in the 80s...
If it makes you feel better, this sort of thing happens to me all the time, and with ONE exception, I've always been able to figure out who did what. |

Well, from the small extra bit, it remainds me of a black female singer who was very strong in physique.... and her lyrics went something like this...
You gotta be strong
You gotta be bold
You gotte be brighterererrrrr
but there's definitly that Tina Turner synth thingy in there.
I keep researching....slow newsday, here in the big city.
There's something else in that snip that reminds me of Natalie Merchants "Thank You" or "Kind And Generous"
La la la la...

I don't know how you keep on giving
For your kindness I'm in debt to you
For your selflessness my admiration

Upon further review, I will jump on the Tina Turner "Whats love got to do with it" bandwagon, the tones haven't even been changed, just sampled and cropped a bit.
I'll see if I can rip the vocals off and pull the part out when I get home tonight... |

I'm fairly sure it's from something else, or at least remarkable similar as it sounds quite familiar and I wouldn't know it from his song. |

| yea most 'artists' like Mario just sample existing beats..it's part of what makes pop music even more irritating and yet so darn catchy. |
