I was taking my daughter to her flute lesson, and saw a storm approaching. The sun had not yet set and was in front of it. Just had to share!

. . . . . . . . . .

I'd love to know your thoughts!

Cool shots! Love #3! Congrats

Good shooting, I like #2 best, probably because of the colors in it's sky and clouds.

That's exactly my favorite kind of light because of the wide range of colors produced by the warm and usually diffused light offset against the cool background. This light gives every scene such bright, saturated colors and excellent contrast, as you have captured nicely in all three shots.

Wow, those are beautiful. I love it when I find light like that; it's so rare.

wonderful shots. Goes to show the importance of always having a camera with you.

You actually captured the "magic" I see when I am in lighting like this. These are just heart-wrenchingingly gorgeous. If I do one thing as a photographer before I die, I would love to capture something along these lines. Thank you so much for posting these. I am assuming little PP was done?

WOW what awesome colors. Great job. Check out this one I did about 2 years ago, loved the "wall" as it moved east, I wish it has your color impact. I wish I had the shot of the clouds above my head, they looked like two hands pushing the clouds together...needless to say I got off the roof really fast after seeing that.

Sab, here's a quick tweak of yours, including some levelling and the inevitable slight cropping that goes with that, blus some contrast balancing and a lot of hue/saturation ehnancement.

Lovely! I like #2 best, but they're all gorgeous. I've seen lighting very similar to this, but only in Northern California and Southern Oregon, for some reason... must be the tendency to rain :)

Wow. I love those photographs... I can smell the ozone; I can feel the downdraft.

Thanks for the comments everyone! I just finished a rainbow shot from the same time and place:

I figured that it would be fun to be a rainbow hunter, since one can always predict when a rainbow can appear. Anyone have any good rainbows?

Man that is cool, wonderful improvement, I haven't had much time to play with any of my images lately...looks like I am going to have to pull this one out and use your suggestions. Thank you.

That is crazy-nice! Those are mountains in the background, right? That's amazing!

Nice work...on the other ones, how many points did you boost saturation?

I love the first three but the rainbow one doesn't appeal in the same way... I think it's just the way the mountains kind of interfere with the rainbow and the top segment is a little too nothingy for me. Don't get me wrong, it's still a nicely captured and processed shot with great light but... the other three are mesmerising to me and this one's so-so.

I really like the first three you posted, specially no.3. Good job!
