I had the opportunity to take some macro shots today. I would love to hear what you all think. All the subjects were alive and free in my backyard.

hi spydr. i enjoyed your photos very much. for now, i can only dream of taking macro shots like these.
The hornet in the 1st row, and the first two photos in the 2nd row are spectacular. Very clear. They are actually quite beautiful and elegant aren't they? The one with the paper wasp building a nest is quite interesting.
The first one of the fly has potential. I like the colors but it's too fuzzy. There's no gradual transition from the clear spot on the left to the blurriness in the rest of the photo.
Of the two butterfly photos, I like the one in 2nd row. It has nice composition. I like that it's off-center. The diagonal of the branch is nice.
I liked the "Spydr" photo the least. I would have like to have seen more details.
Not bad though overall :) Keep up the good work and good effort!

In general these are very good bug shots but some suffer from very shallow depth of field that doesn't cover the subject well. I like hornet and paper wasp 3 and Red_Admiral best of the bunch.
