Here's the standard info about the CC that I've been sending out to anyone enquiring, so I hope this answers some of your questions:

"The Critique Club are a (currently small) group of volunteer users and members who write in-depth critiques of challenge entries once a challenge has finished. The idea is to give each submitter who requests it a more detailled view on their submission, giving more information about the technical and artistic aspects of the entry than a normal comment would give, ideally helping the photographer to create better photos in the future. All users and members are entitled to request a critique from the club, and don't have to be club members themselves to do so."

If you want any more information about the club, or are interesting in joining, feel free to contact myself or Konador.

Well, if I can ever improve my own scoring, I won't mind becoming a paid member and helping out. Being a consistent 5.5, I don't feel qualified to critique anyone's photo yet. I've requested critiques for all submissions and only gotten one (thank you dr. rick), so when I feel more confident in my own ability to produce a decent photograph you can count me in.

Dipaulk, I very much enjoyed your entry in Bizarre Nature and would be pleased to receive an in-depth critique from you. I certainly feel as though I could loads from your advice regarding composition, tone, and interesting subject matter. Don't let your score bother you - it's bound to be better than mine and many others! You don't have to be perfect to be helpful....

Regarding the rollover....and the queue being cleared.

Does this happen at the next immediate challenge post (ie: if one challeng ends on the 15th and the next on the 17th. Is the queue cleared only 2-days later? that would leave very little time to critique?

Or is it the next rollover for each type? so the member challenge rolls over, and it's open until the next member challenge..., likewise, the exclusive open challenges remain open until the next exclusive open challenge. That seems to make more sense to me and give more time.

Considering there were a couple of posts concerning "Critiques" recently in one of the "...comments..." threads, I thought I would give this a gentle bump. ;^)

I've seen that "critique my shot" button, but alas, I'm a terribly unsophisticated photog, with a Nikon Coolpix 8700. Yes, it's not even at SLR! So even though I can extract aperture and ISO, I can't seem to find shutter speed, and thus don't qualify for critiquing. Is that an imperative? I would so like to find out why I remain stuck in the mid- to lower 5s....

Unfortunately, the critique club is not a very good way to get lots of great feedback. It is a great way to get a very small amount of great feedback occasionally. I recommend that you start a new thread asking for honest critiques on 1 or more images. Let the people know you specifically are interested in higher scores. You'll get the feedback you want.

I like this idea. As you know, I do a lot of commenting and I would enjoy knowing that my efforts are going to those that desire the feedback. I may be signing up.

Added: Just realized this was a bump of an older thread. I guess the mentioned change for requesting the critiques never happened.

From what I've read yes you should be able to extract the EXIF and get your ISO and shutter speeds.
Check that you have all the updates for your camera? 2.2 I think but you should check.

I've found the EXIF data but it's martian to me... But that's a great idea freakin-hilarious. I will post the question after the current challenge. Thank you all!
