Started off with 1 vote and an 8.000 score. At 22 votes it's now at 6.3182. Oh well, I really had fun creating the shot, and at least one person liked it. :)

Nope, but it just goes to show you are upset because you have 1 tack in your image.

I do not have issues. Grow up people. Learn to take critique.

It's certainly against the spirit of the rules if our entries are supposed to be anonymous during a challenge...

People are regularly reminded by the SC and other members not to post hints about their images in the forums during a challenge. I would think your potfolio is no different.

that "traffic" probably became a lot higher in the past few minutes . . .

also, as i mentioned ot someone a few minutes ago, un-anon entries sometimes get scored lowered

just curious, but why is it that those that start whining, complaining, or generally start shiot are always the ones to call for others to "get over it"?

Exactly... my question is why the desire to even say how she'll be judging in the first place? And then even leave comments?

Ohh and let me just say to offset aerogurls low scores on 1 tack pictures I'll be giving a higher score then I normally would for 1 tack pictures.

04/16/2005 01:33:55 AM · #41
Thats just tacky!..

LOL...if I had tack in my heading....does that count as plural?
04/16/2005 01:37:37 AM · #42
I think the purpose of calling it "Tacks" was as a pun off of Tax Day, not because they thought it was crucial to the challenge. Unless they specifically call for a certain number of somethings in the challenge description, why not just leave it up to creative license? There's no need to score people's photos lower just because you're bitter about what other people (who are probably bitter because it's been done to them) have done. Two wrongs don't make a right. :)

Oh - NOW I get it!

"Tacks" - I thought it said "Trucks" - no wonder my score is so far off.
(Just kidding)

Technically, it's after the fact :) (from a "one tack" photographer)

It's thinking like that which leaves me only with out takes.

2 hours in the garage, up to my ankles in water and you can't even see the tack!!!!! :D

If I were to say 'go and take pictures of people' or 'take pictures of buildings' etc, taking pictures of a single building or person would be perfectly acceptable. After all, the abandoned buildings challenge was a plural, did you take points off all the photos with just one building in them.

Do you even know how english works? If there was a challenge called 'Cars' would you still say that more than one car needs to be in every picture? The plural is used in challenges like this because you are asking for a large variety of pictures: a challenge called 'Horse' would refer to a specific horse. They have to be int he plural to make sense; that does not mean that all entries have to contain more than one of the required subjects unless specifically stated in the challenge.
