Hi, one question how do I adjust my picture to comply with size requirements for challenges? Thanks in advance. :)

Crop it in your photo editing program.

Ok technoshroom tried that but it didn't work. I am using microsoft digital image pro. I am not that good with editing yet. I must be doing something wrong.

If you go to the LEARN section at the top of DPC, there is a section titled "Tutorials" There is a tutorial THERE that explains how to prepare images for submission.
Also check out the How'd They DO That section from the LEARN link at the top. Very useful stuff there.

You're not using photoshop (which is what the tutorial I linked you to is about), but the 'resize' thing is about the same for most programs. After you crop your image, you may need to 'resize'. If you read that tutorial, it shoud help you out even though your not using photoshop.

In addition to cropping, there's a resize function in every photo editing program that I know about. In Photoshop, it's just Image -> Image Size ... This is found starting with the menu bar at the top.

You should also take a look at the dpc tutorial - it's written for Photoshop, but you can achieve basically the same results with any photo editing program. Try to make your image as close to the 640 pixel maximum as you can, because you'll get lower scores if your image is too small. Good luck!

The tutorial is here: Using Photoshop to Prepare for DPC Challenges

Oops, I typed too slowly!

Also, if you go to the help menu in your Microsoft imaging program and just type "resize image" or something like that, you're sure to get the answers you need. (but read the tutorial also, because there's very good info there.)

thanks everyone, I think I will go buy photoshop, seems to be much easier for editing from what I read. hubby bought me the editing program so he was not sure if it would work for me.

You should already have Photoshop Elements. It ships with just about every Canon camera.
