I'm scanning photos my father took during WWII and this shot seemed to fit so well. I just had to show it given the interest in the current challenge. My father had a 193x's Voigtlander VAG cut film camera and took many great photos while in naval intelligence in China. The man in the photo is unidentified and the location is probably near Foochow, China circa August 1945.

That is interesting. I have a friend who was born in Foochow just a bit later.

Without trying to sound too philosophical (whew, i shouldn't have tried to spell it either) it is funny how hard it is to see where in the world it might be from what you can see, isn't it? Could be any where.
