 A number of my friends have suggested that I submit this photo to some magazine, but I think that it has some problems. Comments are deeply appreciated-thanks!!!! |

| It has a fairly harsh light and some of the shadows are distracting. Did you try to clone something out in the middle near the sparrow? |

| I think you are right, Gwendolyn. The depth of field is much too great in my opinion, and that makes the big pine tree really distracting. And even though it's neat that you have 3 different species of birds there in the birdbath together, there isn't one distinct focal point, at least to me. The Robin's face is in the shadow, and the male purple finch (I think that's what he is) has his back to the camera. The bluebird is very striking, though. While I like this shot (added it to my favorites in fact), I don't think it's a likely candidate for publication. Just my uneducated opinion, but I guess that's what you were looking for! |

I find the amount of shadows in this image very distracting. A different DOF and faster shutter speed may have improved this image greatly. I do hope your feathered friends return for another visit, and that you can get another clear shot at these beautiful birds.
