Forgive me if this is a lame question but i'm fairly new here and this is the first challenge I've entered. It sounds to me as if there is a way to see what number scores you've been given during the challenge. Is that true? Not your average, I see where that is, but the 1-10 scores?

Enlighten me :)

By the way, I've been a steady 4.8 or 4.9 since voting started and I have 4 commments.

Yeah I see everyone posting with low scores and no one is really coming out and saying hey I am getting way to high votes.

BTW....i'm trying to figure a fairly standardized way of voting. I realize this is an art form and subjective, but if I start at 5, add or subtract points for technical perforance, add or subract points for following the challenge theme, and finally add or subtract points personal impact. Did I stop and sigh a wow, or breeze by without a second look? I figure i can do it in my head in seconds and make my voting a little less ah, erratic I guess.

Anyone use any sort of system they would like toshare? I amcurious.

You have to calculate the difference in the average score. It's fairly certain to determine the vote if there's only been 1 new vote and 1 new view, otherwise you can only make an educated guess. If there's 1 vote and 2 views there's always the chance someone who has already voted has changed their original score.

Welcome and I hope you have a fun stay.

Could be that those getting "good votes" dont want to jinx themselves. I will say that the last 100 voters have been IMHO very tough!
No danger of jinxing myself!

Not during the challenge, Picture This.

Thanks Roland. Ok, I thought maybe there was some way I'd overlooked. Thanks for the info!

I am definitely enjoying my stay. I'd been lurking a bit but finally got my digital so now I'm here and really enjoying it.

I forgot to add that I have 167 votes.

That's a pretty fair start to a voting system. Obviously you've given it some thought. The only rules about voting are that a 1 goes to a "bad" picture, a 10 goes to a "good" picture and you should take meeting the challenge into considration. Every one has their own way of doing it. All methods are valid. Good Luck.

This is my first challenge also. Art is very subjective. I've gotten 2 comments both of which were helpful so maybe I'll do better on the next challenge.

Still holding at a 6.12 avg score with 6 comments. Considering the roller coaster like effect with the scores, I'm pretty happy with this.

I'm just over 4.XXXX

I love the way there are threads started complaining about all the photos looking the same and no one thinking outside the box then as soon as you do no one rewards for it.

Personally I don't care about scores but It would be nice if people became a little bit more flexable here.

I mean no disrespect Gurilla, but how can you be positive that your score is due to being "Outside the Box". Mine is in the proverbial box, is doing poorly and I honestly believe that it is due to the possibility that my tastes differed from the masses in this instance and that they view my photo as plain unadulterated crap.

Hey,,,,,,if I suddenly go quiet... it will be because "She Who Must Be Obeyed" called the fellas with the white coats... I sit here, laughing uncontrollably while gazing at this monitor ..... and well she wonders.
