Now pass back some motivation to me...
4.75 on 64 votes. About what i expected. No comments so far.
I should have put my dog in the picture, or my son - pics with those subjects seem to score better...of course my daughter is in my extreme pic and well, it is doing worse than the abandoned bulding...

Well, I must say I'm perplexed; both of the comments I've gotten were unabashedly positive, but the score... well, let's just say that I expected to be above 6 (though not by much). Live & learn.

Do people think their scores are higher or lower than the "honestly" expected. I wonder if the high number of entries could be hurting scores overall?!?!?!

This is typical of the next day slaughter. The high number of entries is a contributor and my score should always be at 9.5 no matter what ;-)

a ruin is usually a building that is/has been abandoned ...
as a ruin picture taker ...i aimed for color,texture & character ...

In the case of a building, abandonment is the first step in the making of a ruin. (In the case of a person reckless abandon can also be the cause of ruin, but that's a different topic). Thus every ruin which was once a building is necessarily an abandoned building. The connotations are slightly different, one suggests more delapidation than the other, but they both most certainly fit the challenge.

I just learned, based on a comment someone just made, why my entry is not doing as well as expected. There is an object in the image, very important to the image, that the younger generation doesn't know what it is. A comment, just recieved, suggests that I should have cloned it out. What a bummer, 'cus it is clear by the comments made by older viewers, that they really love the image. Who would have thunk it...?

This is my first challenege and I have no bas eline to go by. I figured mine was about a 3.75 - 4.25 and so far I am getting and a .5 - 1 point gain. Not sure if people just a little on the kind side, or after 100 pictures of crumbling stone and rotten wood people have been tuned out to alot of it.

I think I also did a boo boo when I started voting last night at midnight local time. I wanted to rate each image and comment on the ones that were above 5. I did that but in viewing 499-498 pictures...I had to go back and re evaluate some of the scores I gave. Some I somewhat liked but others I just did not get and they had the same score. So I wanted to ask eveyone is it wise to give scores on every image or just the ones that inspire you negatively or postively?
