Know this is asomething I should know but....In bright daylight how do you show movement and not get too much light in the picture?

| You can either try using F/22 to give a longer shutter speed if you don't mind the increased dof, or if that doesn't work buy a neutral density filter that will cut at least a couple stops of light. |

Stop down, say f/16 or f/22. Set ISO to lowest value. You may still find, on a sunny day, that your shutter speed is a little fast to show motion, depending on the subject. To show alittle motion in sprots shots, 1/100s might be an appropriate shutter speed, and you might be OK. If you need a much slower shutter speed, you might need to filter some of the light out. A polarizer will cut the light down by about 1.5 stops, but this is where neutral density filters really come in handy.

Set your camera to AV and set the aperture to the highest number it will go. If that's not enough you can get an ND (neutral density) filter and put it on the front of your lens. Basically, that is a dark filter that makes everything darker. There's different levels too. Check here for the size for your lens. Hope this helps.

I'd find some shade =)
The problem with using aperture to control exposure is that sometimes you don't want the background to be that much in focus, in which case ND filters or a polarizer would be better.

Some of us wish we had F16 or more.
Let' see - 3 ND's up front should do the trick.
