I'm new at voting and have a question about voting the ducks. There are several pictures that obviously didn't follow the rules about what had to be in the photo. How do you score those?

Just remeber it's an April's challenge. I don't vote to harsh on those which seem not to meet the challenge, if they look good or are creative. Sometimes you're even mistaking, for example when you think there's a grape missing or sth like that.

... also please be careful to make sure that everything is there. My entry does have 5 grapes... I was being creative and I have three comments that one is missing. =( But it's really there. I think some people are quickly glancing instead of really looking at each photograph.

I wasn't too concerned about the ones that look like they MIGHT be missing a grape or two. I'm thinking more of the BLATENT ommision of objects as stated in the rules. As I mentioned, I'm fairly new to this site and am still trying to learn the proper etiquette. This site has already been such a benifit to me, and I just want to make sure that my comments and voting scores are helping others as well.

If the photo doesn't meet the challenge, vote it down. Normally, not meeting the challenge is not grounds for DQ but for this challenge, it apparently is. My guess is that they will be weeded out and those that didn't meet the challenge will get DQ'd anyway.

I think most of us are just having fun with this challenge, including comments. Well I am at least. ;-)

I certainly am having fun; I gave out more 10's than on any other challenge...

This is pretty hysterical. We should do more like this...

I agree. This was a riot. I had a long day at work, and then hosted a dinner at my house. I was whipped by 10:00pm . . . but then my wife said "aren't you going to do that duck photo?" WhooHoo, I think my wife is accepting my new hobbie (still haven't told her what I paid for my camera though).

I thought the whole thing about any challenge on this site is that we enjoy taking photos, and out to learn new skills.. Why shouldn't we vote on every challenge the way people are voting on this one?

I agree, even though I did not get to submit voting on ducks has been the most fun voting experience since joining,, it would be great to havw 1 of these bizare challenges per month.. and for all the people who got all the items together congratulation.
It was fun to see all the different photos with the same props.. strange thing is that even though all photos had the same subjects there was still more variety than in the last 3 challengeg :}

The overall quality of the challenge photos are a lot better than I anticipated. I agree...we should do more of this.

I vote as I normally do, but actually i voted 1-2 points lower than normal. I did find that in the end I voted most entries with the whole martini glass a point lower because it just seemed like every fifth phot was "duck and glass"

Ones that stood out creatively got the best scores from me. Good technical photos on subject matter got decent scores.

Agree 100%. I think the more restricted challenges definitely help one to be creative. I just wish I'd had more time to spend on this challenge because I know I could have done better.
