Michael - I had to unlink my gallery from the DPChallenge Community you set up. A number of people were getting confused that they were not looking at my photos and were instead in your gallery becasue of the large header and footer that is displayed anouncing Michael Newton Photography.

Don't know why a community defaults to the person who set it up.

Yup, I noticed that too. There's an option to turn this on/off, but it appears to be broken. It's always marked as Off, and changing it has no effect, yet even though it's always shown as Off, it's actually always On. I'm currently working with the PTBs at smugmug to get this fixed.

Had the same results. Let me know when it's fixed!

You got it!

I rattled their cage a couple times, and they snarled back at me. They say they're looking into it.

This is an update on the co-branding problem associated with the DPChallenge Photo Community on smugmug.

I found that if you set the Appearance option to smugmug: on the galleries that you associate with the DPChallenge community, then the co-branding stuff of the community creator (me) will not show up on your galleries. This option can be found near the bottom of the customize gallery page for your gallery...

Although not a complete solution, it will allow you to add your galleries to the community and have people view them without my co-branding.

The folks at smugmug have told me that they are in the process of a major overhaul of the features available to smugmug photo communities, but they couldn't say when the work will be completed.

Regards,
Mick
