Thinking biblical thoughts on this one, but that's just my first take on this challenge.

Actually, I think the saying goes like this:

"In the beginning, there was nothing.... and the Lord said Let there be light.. and behold there was light.... but there was still nothing. hehehehehe

It actuall goes like this:

In the beginning, God said let there be light. However, there was not enough light to take a pitcher of it without an IS lens.

So we all bought IS lenses and saw that it was good and there was much rejoicing.

With slight variations from version to version. I've read the King James version a few times just for something to do.

Where would photographers be without what happens in Genesis 1:3?

In the dark...

Or complete absence ...

"In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."

In the beginning there were certainly no humans or stuff constructed by humans around. So this is a nature challenge.

That's a rather limiting view. How about athletes lined up waiting for the starter's gun? Ground being prepared for a new building? A vintage car being started by the old crank in the front (I hope you know what I mean...) Lots of other things that don't have to have a biblical reference.

Exactly.. the challenge description was left open-ended.. nothing says that it has to be the beginning of the earth, or humanity or the universe.. :)

Could be the beginning of breakfast.
Or the beginning of the end.
or the beginning of Dukes of Hazard. (Creatively photograph "Those Good Ol' Boys")

I was thinking about the idea of a something hatching from an egg, but as it's such a good idea for this challenge I'm keeping it to myself.

oops ;)

Whats really amazing is that in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth then said "let there be light"

Surely it would have been easier to turn the light on first to see what he was doing

or was he just showing off?

Adam and Eve = Evolution of the Atom. The atom is the purest and the most basic form of life. I always wondered about the names and why they were named Adam and Eve. Evolution.... That is how life started. When the atom began to evolve. Just some philosophy Im thinking up, Im not saying it is true.

Quark? And an atom of which type? I guess one would have to consider that a hydrogen atom, but that gives rise to certain implications ...
