Of course...all Canadian bald eagles are bilingual.

Apparently you've never watched the entire 3rd season of Baywatch.

Great pic

I think this is the same bird. The Toronto zoo last time I checked only has one.

Right by the entrance. I love that shot of yours as it definately conveys the power of these birds.

Randod300 sent me some incredible eagle shots here.

Very nice photo, although you lost much of the detail in the highlights.

Agreed...need to go back and play with the original as there is some blur that needs to be corrected. Thanks.

It was raining this day.. I went on a photography seminar put on by the Zoo. A man name Kevin Spreekmester put it on.

Anyways they let us go in places you normaly would not be allow. One of the places was a reptile house. I have / breed reptiles so this was not interesting to me. I asked if I could walk around outside. This bird was right beside the reptile house so I sat and took about 50 pics. All of a sudden everyone came out of the house all at once and scared him.

He got all mad a started screaming at everyone. I was the only one to get a shot off Timing is everything.

It's a very pleasant shot, but for me it's just another eagle headshot. Nothing happening, from an action point of view, nothing distinctive from a compositional point of view. It would be improved if the head were rotated a tad more to the left of the frame, so the arc of the beak were displayed against the background a bit better. The eyes, also, lack that spark of life.

Making a really special eagle shot is very difficult... This is a nice one, though, if you worked with the highlights and the eye saturation a bit.

added: a quick workover on the eye and beak:

See what I mean? Got some of that eagle glare now...

Thanks for the comments earlier today...here is a less subtle version on the right. I tend to over process the image and lose the details. What do you think of the toned down version?

There are nice shots. Great shots. Really great shots. Wow shots. Unbelievable shots. Really unbelievable great shots. Then,,,,, the shot.
What catagory do you think this shot fits into? I am seeking the shot too. What do you think?

Great shot.....

I feel that it's a little too contrasty. The white feathers just don't seem right somehow. I have found that when shooting the bald eagles at the zoo, that fill flash can really help bring life to the eyes. Your composition is fine, just might work stronger in portrait mode.

hmm..I looked at both of those shots and I really like the one with more contrast. The other looks to flat, but I do like highkey shots the best. Either way it is a wonderful shot!

But it looks fake as shit. One thing you should never do when taking wildlife photography is to tweak the images to make them look like you think they should look. I've never seen an eagle with glowing eyes.
