Yes, the freshly dead are always more interesting.

So, we are going to be beset with over 300 cemetary images. like a flea infestation. Oh, God, how many tombs and rows and rows of the dead. Not my cup of tea for a challenge. Well, this one will set me off thinking.

Ah but there is so much more to find, certainly more than just tombs and rows of headstones!

Tombstone hell! We're gonna dig up his body and photograph it.

It's been an hour since the challenge has been posted and we already have one submission.

Wonder if this person is a keeper at a cemetary!

So I was in Albuquerque last month, got lost and found a quasi-deserted cemetary.

I felt as though I were in a scene from an old Clint Eastwood movie. The Good, The Bad and the Dead.

It is just off the major north-south freeway, and is bordered by construction companies and warehouses.

But the location was very compelling, so I kept shooting, wondering about the families whose loved ones were buried here. So little upkeep had been done: it felt abandoned and largely ignored, though many of the hand-done markers showed love, care and skill when they were first put there.

This week I will be home, muttering under my breath about bad timing, feeling as though local graves are too uninteresting....

I will be selling prints posthumously.

No money will be accepted. Souls only please.

PM me for shipping instructions if interested.

I have taken a grand total one one picture in my life in a cemetary:

Guess I won't be using that one!

Edited because I'm a lame-brain and forgot I had 2 others:

I would not count girlgirl out for this one. She lives in the right spot for backgrounds, wonderful models and has a way with spooky "other world" look.

Ugh... the way I'm feeling tonight, this may easily turn into a "Self Portrait" challenge soon! (I'm not usually up, surfing the web at 2:00 a.m., but my routine the last few days has included a middle-of-the-night, violent coughing spell. Aaaaaaah.)
