Just two out of the 171 pictures I took yesterday in NYC. It was a light day. :)

The second shot looks like you were in Riverside Park at about 84th street. Did you get any of the Soldiers and Sailors monument?

Edit: Wait, 77th?

Actually, the first is midtown, 31st & 5th, I believe...few blocks down from the Empire State Building, and the second is accross the street from Riverside Park, at Riverside and 74th. (or thereabouts).

Going to go in April to get night shots - can't wait. Need some warm night time air though. Brrrr.

And thanks. :)

I'm debating booking a trip to DC & NYC in early/mid April, so if anyone wants to organise an NYC GTG sometime around the weekend of the 16th, you might get a Manic along with ya ;o)

Manic-All sounds good to me. Perhaps the gang could work around your tour dates. So if you help narrow things down, I assume we, living here could always make the time without much hassle. I'm easy....

Pick a date and let me know. Has anyone ever organized a GTG, here in the city before?

I'm sure people have ideas on where to meet but may I suggest the downtown Battery, Wall Street, Seaport area....Brooklyn Bridge included.

Maybe start around the Boat Basin at The World Financial Center and swing around The Battery or directly across to the Seaport/BrkBr. ???

Lot's of water, boats, parks, graveyards, The Woolworth Building, City Hall, The Statue of Liberty, The Staten ITALY Ferry....plenty of old and new. All nicely contained. AND most important...Beers(or tea) at one of the Pubs by South Street(The Paris Commune???)

Having said that, I'm game for almost anywhere. Again...I'm easy.

this is a very cool place to go, but, if you don't get there on the first boat from nj, you'll be in line for hours... also, even from battery park, you'll spend a lot of time on the ferry. again, it's a great place to visit, but might not be a good place to include for a shoot about.

I've lived in NYC all my life and I've never been to The Statue of Liberty...and I don't ever plan on going. Much cooler from a distance...like from Battery Park.

I was suggesting an easy walking tour...no complications. Loaded with as many cool diverse things as we could possibly jam into a slow, friendly mile. The Downtown, Wall Street area packs a punch.
