I'm still looking to setup a satisfactory means to catalogue and archive my pictures. Right now I'm just soliciting all wisdom or experience that you kind folks would care to share. Specifically, if anybody uses Photools IMatch or Extensis Portfolio, I'd like to learn about your keywording and categorization schemes. Any other general knowledge is also more than welcome, though. Thanks in advance!

I haven't used Photools IMatch (which looks pretty impressive) or Extensis Portfolio, but I can recommend ACDSee v7.

It has easy tagging (for cataloguing), one of the fasting preview broswers around, very customisable and is fairly priced.

It also has a basic editor built-in (for those jobs not requiring Photoshop), a great import facility that reads my CF Card and automatically puts them its own folder.
