I'm shooting some freerunners at South Bank on the Sunday, but I'll gladly tie up for a beer if possible in the afternoon.

Too bad! I'll be in London shortly but not until the 12th.

OK, we have less than a week to go now and REALLY need to settle on a place to meet. As I posted before, we need Sunday comfirmations. If you are meeting for lunch on Sunday and haven't yet comfirmed, please do so BY tuesday night. I am making reservations on Wednesday for however many people comfirmed. If you don't, you can't just show up. This may sound a bit harsh but restaurants aren't very forgiving when it comes to the amount of people in the reservation. Once again, please comfirm BY tuesday night.

Thank you very much,
June

Thanks for the reminder June, unfortunately I've got a badminton tournament all-day Sunday so I won't be able to make it then.

Is anyone up for something on the Saturday? Can supply a car and some biscuits if interested ;)

I can't do Saturday but... earlier in the thread there were definite discussions about some people being interested in a Saturday meet... haven't had much response on that front since then...

Hi all !!. I was communicating with Kavita on a thread about a GTC for londeners. She asked me to look at this thread.

I know it's very close to the date but can I join in? I would really love to meet you all and widen my friends circle for this wonderful hobby we all share. If I got the date right Sunday, June 5th is fine for me.

Since I am verrrry new to this please do advise the agenda, location and if I need to bring in anything (other than my inseparable camera).

Looking forwad for an acceptance and to see ya all.

You need to let June (who has kindly taken on the task of booking a restaurant for us to meet in on Sunday lunch time in Greenwich) know whether or not you'd like to be included in that booking.
She'll need to know ASAP.

Well shoot!

I'll be in London on the 7th to the 9th. Have the whole day free on the 7th which is also my birthday. It figures that I'll be there 2 days late! Have a lovely time. I'm so looking forward to seeing the sights. Any suggestions on the best places to go would be welcomed.

Well I guess I said I am interested. Should I also write an email to her?

Lots of people here are interested in meeting up but not everyone wants to be included in the meal itself... I wasn't clear from your initial post on that issue.

If you can just clarify whether you want to do the meal itself (here on the thread is fine) that would be great. It does need to be a definite yes or no, not a guess, as we're talking restaurant reservations here and it's not fair to reserve a huge table and then have only a small number of people turn up.

Anyway, see you Sunday.

MEAL = YES
Meeting = YES

Also someone please let me know the time, venue and what did we finalize to do.

Look forward to see ya all.

You have a couple of options:

1) Meet with those folks going to Canary Wharf for some photography on Sunday morning, I'm not sure of time or location of meeting, I think Artan's organising that.

2) Meet us at the restaurant in Greenwich at lunch time. Chiqui will confirm once it's booked but I think we're talking about a 12.00 meeting time for their Sunday buffet brunch/ lunch deal.

3) Meet up after lunch, somewhere in Greenwich, time and place to be decided, though that's not relevant to you since you've said yes to the lunch meet!

Just keep an eye on this thread over the next couple of days!

Deb, I know I'm not available during the day as I am training MS Project but... at the moment there's a possibility I'd be free in the evening - I'm not sure as a friend's trying to arrange a dinner party that week and I've tentatively put aside three days until he hears back from everyone else and lets me know which date it's going to be. Sometime on the 8th may work, though... get in touch, yeah?

Kavey -- I've sent you a message privately rather than add to the forum. Would love to meet you.

Artan's asked me to suggest a morning meet-up location at Canary Wharf, for around 11 o'clock, as I live fairly near the place and know my way around it.

I'm suggesting Bertolucci's, which is close to the exit from the underground station - basically, walk out of the main exit from the station, up the really big flight of escalators (first major photo-opportunity of the day), turn right out of the station, Bertolucci's is on your right. It has seats outside and in, great coffee, and is easy to find.

From the DLR, just follow the signs to the Underground station, and you'll walk past it.

Bertolocci's looks good to me. (I assume its open on a Sunday Morning)

e301 Thanks for the recommendation, and the directions.

What do others feel about meeting there at 11.00 Sunday Morning?

I don't know if I will as it doesn't leave much time before shooting over to Greenwich (which is gonna be noon or 12.30?).

Dunno yet...

:o)

not being familiar with this area - how long will it take to get to Grenwich from Canary Wharf

OK, reservations have been made and comfirmed for 12 people.

We are meeting at 12:00 PM at Elements Restaurant, address is:
173-185 Greenwich High Road
London
SE10 8JA

It is part of the Novotel. As far as directions, I hope someone else can help us with that as I have no clue how to get there. A buffet style brunch runs from 1200 to 1500 and it is £16.95 per person. Please try not to be late. Looking forward to seeing you all there!

June

BTW, 1200 is the time the reservation is actually made for so, if at all possible, try to be there about 10 minutes early :)

If you need a map, there's one here that I dug up from toptable, but it really is a case of going to the Greenwich DLR station, then walking over to the big hotel the other side of the road :o)

It takes about 15 mins and then the walk to the observatory depending on how fast you climb the small mountain will be another 15 mins. Some great views of the city from the top...

Any chance of a South-West GTG in the Autumn when we've moved back to Old Blighty? :)

Just got back from holiday, it looks like I can't make it for this GTG. Hopefully the next time!
