Oh, BTW, this is an excellent article.

"Lens Sharpness, the Never Ending Quest"

the 'take home message' is that 'Good technique trumps sharp optics every time.' Anyway, check it out, it's a good read, esp for lens neophytes, with pretty pics and not too techie ! ;-D

In other words, take your photos on a tripod and you will see a difference every time between the two lenses :)

Youre probaly right that for WEB, it odens't matter once you resize it down because once you do it'll look sharper, but for print, it will matter. I think if people only use it for web, then a normal camera like the G2 would be just fine.

Also, CROPPED photo of DSLR should look reasonably sharp. If i ever find that post comparing the two different lenses, i'll post it here.... some guy did a simple test of using 3 different lenses at the same condition and the difference is pretty staggering (only camera settings are used, no post processing).

here is one of them, i have sent you more in private email.

You can also go to www.photodo.com and look at all the lens ratings as well as their MTF charts which measures the ability of the lens to resolve at different aperatures.
