OK gang, I need to find a motion-blurred image of a curve in a road to match the example below as closely as possible (in the next 24 hours or so) for use on a package label. I know I've seen similar shots here, but of course I can't find them now. If you've got a shot like this, please post it here. If I can find a good match, we'll both be happy. ;-)

Cue theme from Mission Impossible...

I have a night-city-blured scene like you want!
Not on a curve though.....

huuuuu, don't think that would be a match for you LoL

I have plenty of blurry pictures taken while driving around, but I don't think any of them have the curve and nice foreground focus you need.

There was a ribbon-winner taken in a curving tunnel a long time ago, but it's all streaked lights, not trees.

Darn, I have to think ... maybe something from my last driving vacation.

Any other specifications, like sky (or lack of)? Or just a curved road with blurry foliage?

A need a road with foliage and a feeling of speed. With or without sky... doesn't matter. It'll probably pay for a new camera for the photographer if I can find a match.

And what's wrong with your example?

For various reasons, it's not available for use.

Ah ... I'll try to think about it, I might have something like that, but I hope other people are looking too.

Hey, if you can get a clean shot that looks like that by tomorrow afternoon, I might have a new 20D for you.

Are you proposing to commission such a photo for roughly $1500 worth of equipment? If so, I'll drive around all day tomorrow to get you that shot :)

Thanks, that's one of the shots I was looking for. It might work, but I'd like to have more green foliage and see more of the road surface. Maybe Crab has some outtakes?

Well, I wondered who'd be calling in from their cell phone : )

Ooooh ... how big does the file have to be? How many pixels for the final size?

It has to be the "right" shot. I wouldn't want somebody spending all day shooting for this and come up empty. That said, if the client approves it, then it could certainly be $1500.

Hard to say... 4 megapixels should cover it if the shot is clean.

You want, essentially, THAT shot? I could do that. I'd just have to rig up the car mount again...

Of course, finding green foliage around here at this time of the year, I'd have to concentrate on evergreens....

Evergreens miiight be OK, but no snow. This has to look like summer.

I'll see if I can come up with something, but I'm not sure how much the snow has melted in the places I'd need to shoot this...

I'm assuming you've tried Getty/PhotoDisc/etc? Even their largest-sized RF images are considerably less than $1500... However, if you've exhausted all of these other options, I'd certainly be happy to give it a go.

pm me if you're interested... i'll give you my email...

There's a place I could try doing that, but the road has a curb. I'm not sure if that'll work

The snow might be the toughest hurdle. As long as the lighting is good, there's nothing about the subject that a Photoshop blur can't cover. I'd try it myself except that we have about 12" of white stuff on the ground. If you've got the time and don't mind the possibility of wasting your efforts, then go for it. The only thing I can promise is that I WILL need a shot like that in the next day or two. I just don't know where it'll come from.

I don't think a curb will matter too much if the scene is predominantly foliage.
