As do I.

Have you ever watched The Surreal Life? It's about movie stars tht were BIG for like a month or so. Should be a good challenge. I think I just thought of a good photo. Nobody use my idea,OK.

Zoom..if you think about it that photo doesnt really strike me as surreal. The Landscape is believable and people sleep outdoors here in NY also, on their Fire escapes ! Lol... Your landscapes are great, and I only wonder what lengths you will go to in the Surreal challenge to make your photo out of this world !

You need huge floppy clocks and some weird creature on various lengths of stilts. And a whole lot of ants somewhere, too.

I disagree entirely there.

Yes, people may sleep ourdoors .... but in a lake or at least a tidal zone, and more importantly ... with a bedside table with a globe on it. How many people sleep on a proper bed in the middle of nowhere?

To me that photo would probably still be a blue in the surreal challenge, it is absolutely perfect for the challenge.

Just to test the water, what score would you give for a photo of me slicing my eyeball open (tastefully done, of course)?

When I saw this challenge Salvador Dali was my first thought. Not sure what I'm going to do but it should be fun. Basic editing restrictions should make this very challenging. Looking forward to seeing what everybody comes up with.

Is that challenge similar to out of place?

Dreamlike is another quick definition of Sureal.

Does the photo need to be one shot only or would double exposure type of stuff work (and not get dq'ed)?

I know this won't fly but I like the shot. It's NYC graffitti. I use it to scare little children just before bedtime......

If the camera does multiple exposures, that is okay. To put two or more pix together in post processing is a dq (in basic and advanced)

There are a few surreal images to be had from nature without too much manipulation required after the event..if you look long & hard enough and get a bit of luck.

Our Icelandic friends at DPC should just track down Bjork, follow her around for 10 minutes and they're sure to sweep the ribbons.
