Hey is anyone from the Wisconsin Dells area? My fiance and I are going to hit the dells for a few days after our wedding next month and I was wondering what people would suggest to do there. I went there a few times when I was younger but I'm not sure what to do or go see...

thanks

I would hit an indoor waterpark. City is always slower in the winter though. I think an indoor park is the Great Wolf. I don't know how good they are though.

There is also a casino up there. (HoChunk)

Have fun.

You can camp a Jellystone park! Hehehe! And see the "Wonder spot"! It has been such a long time since I have been! Pick up some Cheese over dere at the Mars Cheese Castle. They have a Wax museum, tattoo shop, and a Ripleys believe it or not. Take a duck ride. Or drink some beer, eat a brat, and relax! Oh yeah.....house on the rock is pretty cool! The dells in general is just a bad tourest trap. But fun is what we make of it! My best to you and your fiancee!

I think Parrothead pretty much covered it all. I'm about 1.5 hours ESE of the Dells, we camp up there one weekend every Summer. If you're driving over from IA, take some long glass and stop along the Mississippi and look for Bald Eagles. They head north pretty early though, they may mostly be gone by the time you travel through.

I was just up past there this weekend in Wausau skiing at Granite Peak. pretty great spot for midwest skiing.

the Dells are great of you like tacky and kitschy stuff (I do.) We're going to Kalahari (indoor water park - //www.kalahariresort.com/front.php) with the kids and another family over spring break. They have a new indoor surfing pool attraction called FlowRider that I'm looking forward to trying.

The Rick Wilcox magic show is fun.

I was just up at the Kalahari last week for a conferance. The water park is nice. The only problem I had with it was If I had brought my daughter (5) she would have been scared to death of the adult slides (they are all completely dark tube rides) and the kid slides they wouldn't let any parents on. But she would have loved the wave pool and the other kid stuff.

The adult slides would have been fun for her except for the dark part (except for the "toilet bowl" one. That one would have scared the crap out of her.)

I never tried out the surf thing, it looked like fun though.

Here's a picture of a new attraction they are still working on (it's supposed to be the White House, just upside-down)....
