I love shooting concerts! I actually just got hired by a nearby big club to do more concert photograhy. I don't know if you have ever heard of the Crocodile Rock Cafe, but that is where I will be working! I am so excited! My first show is on March 5th and it is for Breaking Benjamin! :)
Anyways, here are some of my best recent shots.
You can see some more of them in my Concert folder

grandmarginal, the third one is fantastic. How did you do it? I've taken my camera to tons of shows, and never gotten a crisp effect like that without a flash, which tends to kill the mood.
nsoroma79--i love the tough looking biker guy playing the flute. classic.

Thats weird this thread would come up. I just went and experimented at a "Battle of the bands" last night. They arent great, but it was lit badly. It was just a bunch of high school bands.

Thank you.... I have gotten some shots like grandmarginal without flash.... can your camera be put in manual mode? I know mine can, so I shoot at an Ap of 5 and a shutter speed of 160. I usually get good results.

Thanks. I'll try that set-up next time :) What iso do you shoot at? |

I usually shoot at 800 iso, depending on how much light there is, I can get away with 620 or 400 (400 is rare). I am also right at the stage, so I don't have alot of space between me and the perfomer. So that helps alot!

My camera goes 400 ISO max, and yes, if the stage is small, flash will kill the mood, alltough with photoshop you can get pretty creative... How did I do the third shot? Honestly, for the light, I got lucky. I tend to lock my auto-focus and try to combine good pose with good stage light.
Parrothead, I love the first one... Very good and I'm a sucker for SG guitars!
