2% Touch Challenge

Comment by Wannmohamed: This image is gross and distasteful. It's a pity some idiots like you take the beauty out of photography by submitting such trash.

The idiot, me, would later win a blue ribbon. Take that Wannmohamed.

This one I took at the 11th hour for the Architecture challenge. I plan to re-take the image because that night was about 40 degrees F with 25 knot winds. Even though I worked off a tripod, there was still too much motion blur.

At 37%

I often got passed through this bridge on my way from tampa to bradentown, but I didn't know one could actually see tampa from there!
U sure it's tampa? That would definatelly be my choice for the bridges challenge, just from a diff point of view!

Scuds, this is the Sunshine Skyway Bridge from St Petersburg to Bradenton/Sarasota. From my vantage point, it is not possible to see Tampa. The lights are from the north causeway portion of the bridge.

Thanks for looking

No offense, but I kind of agree -- your foot is utterly disgusting. I don't swear much, but I can think of a few swear words to describe your foot. Congrats on your ribbon though.

I love this bridge! It's a master piece IMO. I also love the way those phone boxes are spread through out the entire bridge extention. I heard that this bridge is one of the most "popular" suicidal spots in the US, LoL. I mean, it's sad, but I like the idea of having councelling availabe 24 hours a day, for that matter!

I'm not really convinced this is my worst, but all the voters can't be wrong, can they?

I've been pretty close, but I just can't seem to get a ribbon - not even a brown one!

But does that give him the right to call me names? I agree it's not a technically good photo, and that it is disgusting. But that was the point. The challenge was touch, which didn't have to mean touching something with your finger. The ant touched me with his fangs, and I felt that touch, and this was the result of the touch. My sense of touch felt it, and I'm sure some of the viewers felt it as they viewed it. If it was just a little red mark or something it wouldn't have the impact it had. I think I succeeded.

He could have just said, "ewww, thats gross" like everyone else, and not that I'm an idiot, and a disgrace to everything photography.

What's ironic here is that my blue ribbon photo is way more disturbing than this.

Yes, I know, poverty is supposed to be disturbing.

Nah...I'm the idiot and disgrace to everything photography!

Who else would have entered this:

into a wildlife challenge?
(Except someone coming down from a 10-day vacation high?)

Actually, despite it's scoring only 4 from the bottom, I like it and treasure the insightful comments left by many of the fine DPC'ers.

And it's actually quite a nice photo by itself, IMHO..

One of the magical things we can do with a camera is take some ordinary moment and trap it in a context and place that makes it special.. You've done that, but you did admit in your comments that it was just a little bit of a curve ball for the challenge..

And my worst finish:

18%, and I thought it was really destined for the brown, but there you go...
