Wow! You are definitely being copied. That is not right at all. And using YOUR pictures too... Not kosher...

I sent a PM to Mr Falk as follows:

//www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=read&FORUM_THREAD_ID=175296

You have been rumbled. I suggest you re-evaluate your decision to plagiarise not only the design of another professional's site but also your copyright theft of his images.

OMG...that is so wrong!
I hope he pays for what he has done.

Legal Ramifications are astounding.

Take out a full page ad in his home town paper showing him for the fraud he is. ---- Actually Don't. Please read on.

Why would anyone do something so low? Did he think he wouldn't get caught? I hope there is some recourse for you Jeff.

He should be removed from DPC for going against photographers (and general) etiquette.

It's hard enough making a living with the creative arts.
Now we're getting it by friendly fire.

This guy should be out pumping gas.

Totally uncool for him to rip you off like that. Get a lawyer man.
02/18/2005 06:56:41 AM · #16
He is nothing short of a low life thief.

02/18/2005 06:57:09 AM · #17
I'd be spewing big time! That's a plain and total rip off! Atleast your BIO's are different!

Why not give the guy a chance to respond before jumping to conclusions?

Also please remember that personal attacks are not permitted on the forums, even under these circumstances.

What?????

John Falk has stolen someones website and photographs. What sort of excuse could he have for that? "Oh, I'm sorry. I have never heard of copyright". ??

Never mind the blatant theft of your work, how can he make his site look so bad by not even using the right fonts?

I think he should definitely remove the site, or pay you a fee for the usage of the design. Either way it is still a great compliment for your fantastic site design.

If he's that crap he has to copy your site, I imagine he's not taking much in the way of custom from your either. (including the fact you're in Derby and he's in California).

Yeah I would love him to respond. At the moment he hasn't replied to my emails, and he conveniantly wasn't at home when I called him this morning.

I would at least report him to PPA, WPPI and any other Professional organizations here in the USA. Professional this guy is not.

It looks like he just removed the code from his site.

Does not seem to be a personal attack at all Club. I searched high and low for both photographer's names on the internet. John Falk shows up nowhere. Jeff Ascough however has a well known and established presence.

Course, as I continue to look, this may simply be a case of someone who visited the site, copied the code and posted, planning to update with his own stuff as he developed the site. The code wipe that just happened revealed a hidden counter that showed only 23 visits. Perhaps this was just a case of not thinking through what he was planning to do.
