HOW WAS IT DONE?

Some of you have shown an interest of how this was done, so I put this together quickly to share the knowledge.

Challenge Entry Photo:

See Setup Photo below.

What I used 'The Props'
Defining Light, Trail Light, Orange Glow Light, The Magic Glove, The Bulbs and oh yeah a camera!

Setup Photo:

So in this case the camera settings were as follows:

Focal Length: 10 mm
Aperture: F 7.1
Exposure Time: 10 sec.
ISO Speed: 50
Light Source: Tungsten

OK now the fun begins.

Since I don't have a dSLR I couldn't really set my camera to manual focus which would have saved me some time especially since this was shot in a pitch dark room.

OK, you got everything setup as per the Setup Photo minus the props ;-)
- I glued the light bulbs to the black construction paper
- Pitch Dark Room and I used the Defining Light to get the focus on the light bulb(s) in this dark setup.
- Like usual with macro shot I used a 10 sec timer to give me time to drop the Defining Light and get the Orange Glow Light ready.
- At this point make sure you have the nice The Magic Glove ready (OK, yes it's my wife's and she probably won’t be able to wear it again since it's all stretched out but that’s all I could fine that was made of none-reflective material hope she's not reading this ha ha), anyways use the glove to hide your hand from the camera sensor.
- Orange Glow Light was used to give the light bulbs some definition and shape; I had it shining from above and a slight angle to not have too much of a reflection on top. I shined it for about 2 seconds each.
- Trail Light was used to make the trail from one light bulb to the other at this point that The Magic Glove is a necessity. Try a few outtakes to make sure you have the trail the way you like it, took me a few shots just to keep the trail within the bulb itself!

Easy as Pie!

That's all folks, hope this helped a bit.

---- My outtake from this ----

One of my outtakes, I was going to submit this one but in my Three Challenge I had too many distracting items and I think that hurt my entry. I played it safe with this one and didn't enter it. For my actually submission for the first time I used '*' as the title, I was actually going to call it 'So, One Light bulb said to the other...'

Oh, just a name I used to describe the Plain Old Black Glove I used! The Magic part is the fact that wearing it prevented the camera from capturing my hand when I was moving the lights around.

Now, if I had a Real Magic Glove ... what would I do with it? Hmmmmmm!
Or what would the Magic Glove do for me?
