Last weekend I got myself an Epson 2200 and used all the paper that came in the box for sample prints. I'm looking at purchasing Premium Lustre Photo Paper and wondering if there's an economical way to purchase them. They're available in different sizes as well as rolls.

Can I use rolls to print different sizes, e.g. 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, 13x19 and other odd dimensions? If so would it be cheaper than buying them in different sizes.

What Canadian stores would you recommend?

Roll paper is not really an economical solution. It costs more per sq ft than sheet paper.

Try Vistek in downtown Toronto.

I have on occasion gang-printed multiple images on a larger sheet with my epson, and trimmed them out. Helps a little with cost.

Congratulationson your buy! That is a great printer you just purchased.

I am going to have to strongly agree with setzler on this one. I've used this printer many times and I've learned that roll paper will only cost you money. Sheet paper is more economicly sound in the long run. I've only used roll paper for panorama prints. Also Roll paper for the 2200 doesn't really come in a huge variety of sizes.

I tried roll paper a while ago. While I never calculated out the economy, I really hated the fact that your print then needs to be flattened, as the paper curls up.

I can't see the reason for going roll to be honest other than for panoramas.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll pick up a pack of Lustre this week.

Yesterday I bought a package of 50 sheets Luster for $39.75 Cdn. I have a couple more questions:

1. How do I get 8x10 prints? All the test prints I did last week were not exactly 8x10 except for one and I don't know why. My image is 8x10 in PS but when printed they're either longer or shorter by about 1/4 of an inch. Do I leave the settings to 8.5x11? How about border? I just printed one now and I changed the size to 8x10 but the print came out 7-3/4 x 9.5 .

2. Luster doesn't come in 5x7 or 4x6 (i'm basing this on the price list of the store I got it from) so what size paper should I buy for these print sizes?
