I try to retake this photo and I always get little color surrounding the bridge. Is this due to smog hiding the blue sky? the higher you go the brighter it gets. NY is too damn dirty!

Yep, think it's smog. Very hard to find any horizon without some of that...even high up in the Alps in Europe you can still see a brown line on the horizon. I think the colour is due to nitrogen-based gases such as NO and NO2 in the pollutants. Ben
