Ah, now THAT's a blast from the past for me. I lived in Geneva from 1957 to 1961, at 15 Rue Michel Chauvet in a modern apartment building fronting on Malagnou. Is that the backside of the Saleve I'm seeing in the background in a couple of the pix? I remember so well spending the day up there, riding home in the gathering dusk, through the border and past the boulangerie, where we'd pick up bread and sweets for my mother. We'd take our bicycles up the top on the teleferique, hang out all day, and then ride down the gap between Petite Saleve and grand Saleve, whooshing around the switchbacks, a real thrill ride.
Tell me if I've got it right, these are dredged-up memories. Is my building still there? 7 stories high, swimming pools on the roof... There were 2 of them, if I recall correctly...
And oh, yeah.. Nice pix, amazing ice-forms.
Robt.
