So Cal DPC Meet Up - Anza Borrego (Apr 8th - 10th)

Great news everyone! John offered us his camper! So, here's the deal:

We can take 8 people (including John & myself). So, 6 more of you can sign up for this trip!

We leave Saturday morning, early (or maybe Friday night).
We come back on Sunday after sunrise (so we can capture sunset on Saturday and sunrise on Sunday).

Please sign up early so we can call the park for reservations!

I've been looking closely at these desert sites for anza borrego! I am getting soooo excited. I want to go to the badlands and the waterfall area! This place is amazing!!!

Crystal, don't worry too much about jobs. There are plenty out here. It all depends on what you want (or are willing) to do, but it might be hard to land something without being here.

I am very excited about this trip! John, thank you so much for offering to tote us around your amazing vehicle. I can't wait!!! I have never been to Anza, and I can't wait to see the badlands!

Should we reserve a campground space for the RV? How does it work? I have never done this...

qmdi: yes, that is the date. We may be leaving friday night and returning sunday after sunrise though, so plan for a weekend camping trip. I want to hear from everyone else, but I think driving down friday would give us ALL day saturday to play! Then, we could come back home after sunrise or whenever on Sunday! Let's not make other plans that weekend so that we aren't stressed about time frames :)

Who else wants to come with us to Anza? I am making reservations for our spot for Friday & Saturday night at the campsite this week. Here's the plan:

Friday at 7:00pm - Leave LA Area
arrive
get settled in
do some night shots
Saturday
Sunrise: 5:26am - photograph something pretty
nap
photograph the badlands & the springs
Sunset: 6:14pm - photograph something
discuss what to see on Sunday
Sunday
Sunrise: 5:25am - photograph something else
photograph whatever area we discussed Saturday night

Make sure to pack non-perishable foods for the weekend (PBJ, veggies & fruit that can sit out, crackers, cereal, peanuts & raisins, lots of water, etc). Not sure how far we'll be from civilization and we may have to eat whatever we bring! This will be really fun!!!

Hi everyone, I fronted the money for our campsite! It's $65.75.
There are 6 of us right now, and since John is paying for the gas for the RV, the rest of us need to split the camping fee. It comes out to $13.15 each (for 5 of us). If we get one or two more, it will go down a few dollars. We are also going to feed John for his generosity with driving, letting us sleep in and travel in his RV. So, bring a few dollars extra or some food to share!

We are staying in Borrego Springs. There is a small town there we can eat at, but we should also have snacks and food to eat at the RV so we can really 'camp' or at least not have to run to town for food all the time.

If any of you have paypal, you can paypal me at mirlantany@yahoo.com $13.15 each. If we get more people, we'll divide up the campground fund later. No worries. If you don't have paypal, just bring cash or a check with you and I'll collect from you that day.

Meet up: 4/8/05 at 7pm in Glendale (you can park on my street for the weekend).

Directions call for us to take the 134 to the 210. If anyone lives far east already or in San Diego already, we should try to find a place to meet up since we can only have our RV and the truck we are towing with us. We can't have extra cars on site unless you call to reserve yourself a place to park. So, let me know what you would like to do about riding out there together. It's just over 3 hours to get there. The reservation is in my name: Arielle Tyner. I don't know if cell phones work in the park.

I will have my campground reservation mailed to me in 7 days they said. So, I can then tell you where to meet up with us if you are meeting us there. Again, if you are meeting us there, you need to get permission to park somewhere there from the park itself.

Paypal is free! I only have the free account and I do NOT accept credit cards (ONLY quasi-cash) transfers, so for those who have paypal and funds in their paypal accounts, it's free to transfer from one member to another :)

I bet Leo would love to go to see the poppies. We should invite him! :)
