I am unable to add my current challenge entry to my personal order, attempting to get to the order page sends me back to the front page. Not a huge issue, I'll just hold off on the order till next week, but will it be possible in future or is there good reason for not allowing it?

I don't suppose there's any chance of a currency converter too?... Okay, now I'm pushing it! ; )

Even with the extra postage to ship over here your rates are excellent, *much* cheaper than the UK service I was using! Thank you.

This is a bug, and it's now on the top of my list of things to fix. I'll let you know when it'd done!

For buying prints -- we ship to a large list of countries. Check the list here. For selling prints, you'll need to review the member agreement. Basically, you are responsible for making sure you violate no local or international laws by using our service.

Safer than handing it to the kid at the music store :)

OK! I thought I had it worked out, managed to upload one picture but I think it was just luck! I am still having problems getting the right size. Following the tutorial and then adding the border after pasting. Thing is when I move onto the Image size part, if I change one of the pixel dimensions the other changes to match, then the document size is not for example 4-5, but slightly under or over. One more thing, before I try to change the image size, resolution is very high, nowhere near 72 dpi. Sorry if what I have said isn't very clear but I am confused!! Can anyone decipher what I am saying?

Natasha,

You might want to try this thread.

You might also find good help in one of our resampling tutorials.

Is there any way to get quickly from one of your prints in the dpcprints pages to the page where you can edit the image information (specifically to add keywords in this case). I'm currently having to go the long way round by finding a link to my portfolio and working down from there. A link to 'My Portfolio' in the dpcprints menus would be handy also.

A permanent link to dpcprints on the photos menu on dpchallenge would be a good thing to have - currently the only link is in the news sidebar.

On a totally unrelated note ... the browse->by artist page on dpcprints makes interesting viewing. No. of prints uploaded: 2, 2, 6, 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 1, 6, 5, 1, 2, 57, 1, ... hold up!!! 57?!?!?! Go John : )

Edit: Also I cannot add keywords to my current challenge entry, again can this be added or is it blocked to stop entries showing up in keyword searches?

I agree with you Bod. The next thing you know you're back on DPC and not on the DPCPrints site anymore and the route back to the prints page is a bit long. Good suggestion Bod. :-)

On another note.. I tested out the purchase process and it's clear and simple to use! Great job guys!! BUT..... do you think it would be possible to pay with PAYPAL? This would save many non-USA residents lots of conversion fees. I know you guys are swamped but is this on your "TO DO" list?? :-) Thanks

Question: Why are the panoramic print sizes (i.e.,6x12, 6x24, 12x24, 12x36, etc.) not available for members when purchasing their own prints? Just wondering.

Thanks!

Is there any way to link more than one print image to a portfolio entry, e.g. to allow printing at different aspect ratios? Or for color/B+W versions of the same photo.

If we are uploading photos for ourselves only, can we upload a tiny placeholder image to the portfolio (to save space) and put it in a hidden folder?

Ok I tried to get a print to the sell page and it said it was only 66 dpi or something like that. What am I doing wrong? My photos are 1200 by 1600 when I take the photo. Should I be taking them in 2048 by 1536? How am I supposed to sell any of the pictures I already took? I read the helpful tuturial, but it didn't help me, because I don't have that program.

Never mind I figured it out. Wow, was that frustrating.

Hi Sonja, I would recommend you take your photos at the highest resolution your camera allows if you want to print them larger than 4 x 6. What software do you have? Email your photo and let me see if I can upsize it for you. Thanks to John Setzler, I learned that you can resample up in size - I didn't know that and I tried it and it works.

Irfanview has a good resampler utility, and from what I've read, it's nearly as good as Genuine Fractals. Irfanview is free too.

I was thinking about downloading it now.

I am curious to find out how big people are resizing files. I've resized some 4mp images from my old G2 to 11x14 size images that were pretty close to 300 dpi, and the prints looked great.

I have IrfanView, but have only used it for reducing/rotating files. Please let us know which setting you find optimum for re-sampling up, as I'm starting with only 1600 pixels...

It has to do with how panoramics are charged -- per inch. This will require us to code an extra tool. It's not in plans for the near future, but once the site starts to pick up, we'll certainly reconsider. We do some clever stuff to allow us to offer panoramics for public sale, but sadly, it won't work for personal purchases.

All on their way! :) I've spent the last 2 days trying to recover from all the work I've ignored trying to get this site up, and I'll probably still be recovering for a week or so :)

If you need a panoramic real bad, mark down the price to what you're willing to pay, order it, then go back and raise the public price. That is, if the price charged is that in effect at the time the order is confimed...

Our architecture does not allow for this, and it'd be a huge endeavor to change. The best advice I can give is that if you want to offer prints from a second ratio, upload a second print. You might title that print "Print Title v2" or something similar. You are certainly welcome to link between prints using our forum code in your print description.

Absolutely! We're aware that there's this extra step in the process if you're just uploading a file for print only. Right now, the site is still very much in its early stages. As it grows, we'll be able to spend the time and effort needed to expand it in such ways.

Just a small thing, but it'd be nice if when switching over from dpchallenge to dpcprints, the cookie would log us in to both pages.
