Here's the shot I'm trying to pull off. I can't seem to hold the quality through the entire depth of the photo. I'm using a point-and-shoot Sony camera with no true manual mode, so sometimes I end up figting the camera.

I used a short focal lenght to keep the object balls blury to exagerate the distance. But in doing so, I also lost some of the integrity of the photo. I didn't have time yesterday to retake the shot, but I was hoping someone could offer some pointers. I want to keep the cue ball as the focal center of the photo, but I don't want to lose the object balls. Will a longer exposure help?

Any tips would be apprecaited.

Interesting shot and while a longer exposure would lighten it up a bit I would think you need a secondary light source on the rack of balls. The cue ball seems slightly out of focus so, with your camera, you might be a little too close to it. Just my opinion, though.

No manual controls makes it tough. I'd suggest lighting the area much brighter, lengthen the exposure. That should cause the aperture to become smaller, resulting in a little more depth. Keep up the good work.

Clean up that cue ball too.

Disagree about cleaning up the cue ball - I think it makes it less of a stock shot. I suppose it depends upon what you are trying to achieve.
