I just received my 8x10 black album from Adorama and it's REALLY nice. I was expect it to be cheap to moderate, but it's SOLID. The cover isn't real leather, but it feels pretty nice. There's a leather upgrade for like 15 bucks. For just 18 pages, it's REALLY heavy and solid.

I got the 18 page, black on black album. I will post pix later, but it's NICE feeling. I can't WAIT to use this to sell couples now. It's not "felt" like it looks in the picture.

Cost = $49.95! UNREAL.

Not the album in our top of the line package, but this is DEFINITELY going in all our moderately priced packages!

:) Its good that you got a nice album at a good price. They are so damn expensive.

Slip in pages right? Does that mean maximum size photos look best?

I am just curious :p

Artleather makes a great album now. Uses 10x10 prints and the pages have adhesive. You peal edge back, center the picture and hold it in place, then reach under and peal the entire 10x10 cover off each page, then finish placing the print. They look awesome. You can print the 10x10's in different formats for templates...

The albums are all leather, and are around $55.

ArtLeather is here, but it seems a strange way to do business -- no prices shown, after the order is placed an email will give details.

Is this normal for this sort of thing?

Unfortunately, yes. I was just wondering if s/he had a direct link for those type of albums - they sound like flushmount but iMount versions. Not sure...Sounds WAY too cheap.

Here are those samples! Pardon my sometimes-awful cutting out. I tried, but I don't have all day to edit these. lol

The art leather album I was discussing was an iMount book. I ordered in qty of 5 albums and got them at $55 each.

The size I ordered was 10x10 format with 15 inserts. The art leather rep introduced me to a lab that has an on-line order template designed for these albums (as well as a ton of other templates and sizes). There are a bunch of templates to choose from. Here are a couple of low res examples:

Once mounted, they look awesome. Leather bound cover with inserts that are bound to the spine.

Art leather doesn't really talk much about these albums. I learned about it from one of their reps who calls on my area.

Nice albums. Do they come with less than 18 pages?

Since we're at it, here are the nice (most expensive) albums I've ever seen. Another photographer I know sells them (every picture needs to be hand cut and pasted in, though).

I think up there with Queensberry are Graphistudio and La Vie.

//www.graphistudio.com/

Both run about $1500 USD.

Oh, as far as the Adoramas, they are available in 18, 24 and 36 pages.
