thanks robt....I did ask, and turns out it was an expression I was not familiar with..so all is good! and I just want to say, I just finished voting, and I gave more 10s, 9s, and 8s than in any other..and I didnt see that there were any below 4 in this one...way to go all!!

I found this challenge a difficult one to vote for. I voted on this principal.
7,8,9, 0r 10 If the picture obviously showed a new or interesting innovative technique and was techniquely well done and pleasing.
6 if the picture didn't use anew orinteresting innovative technique but was techniquely well done and pleasing.
6 if the picture showed an obviously new or interesting innovative technique but was not techniquely well done or pleasing. I felt that these individuals deserved extra credit for the effort.
5 If the picture did not show an obviously new or interesting technique but the picture was techniquely OK or fairly pleasing.
4 If the picture was not innovative, technically well done or pleasing.
I did not give any scores lower than a 4.

Hey Inede that's interesting, I had a very similar methodolgy. Except I gave:
6,7,8, If the picture met the challenge and was pleasing.
9 If the picture met the challenge and had a WOW factor.
Then at the end I reviewed all my 9s and bumped the one I liked best to 10

and I'm very pleased :) since this is also my second participation in a challenge...the first one was place 201 out of 322 and probably holding a record of 111 5's

I agree with the last replies that the entries are generally very good and probably like myself innovative or breaking new ground for themselves.

I'm also pleased with the 7 comments, all very positive and kind towards a oh so humble entry :)

I usually don't reply to people during voting, but I did this time and was glad I did, I think it changed my vote. The voter was under the impression that I had posted this photo or similar technique in the forums, which meant I was discussing it during voting, this was just a coincidence and I replied to explain it to the voter.

PM's can help for sure! :)

I am amazed. I think this is the first time that I have this number of votes compared to the number of total challenge submissions. In other words, if there is 150 entries you can usually expect the voting to end at around 170 max. I am currently at 300 votes. Wow. The downside is that for as many votes that I have tallied, I have only received 7 comments. My photo seems to be stirring quite a range of views and if only there were more comments, good or bad, this would be truly remarkable milestone.

...and it's been this way for a while. Good comments though, despite the fact that a lot of people thought my face was (is) boring. Oh, I also made it through the DQ process, so I'm vindicated! Yeah, whatever. ;)
