I havent read teh full article, but its very misleading. It talks about how Australia is influsenced my USA. Even stating that out media is owen my American companies.

I hate to tell you but its the other way around. Its an Australian that owes a good percentage of both the Australian and American market, Rupert Murdock.

I hate to tell you this, but you're wrong. Rupert Murdock has been an American citizen since 1985 -- so technically speaking, America does have a large influence on both Australia's and the world's media.

This was the dream: to control nature. To produce rain etc. At one time we thought the Russians could have had a hand in controlling precipitation etc.

It turn out we can't. The elements of nature require massive coverage that even our strongest bombs fail. The truth of the matter is that the core of the earth remains very elusive. There is evidence that more upheavels will follow like those that date way back in history.

We tend to think that earth is a stabled body. It is not and every scientist knows this. Ask yourself what pollution or what abuse did the Egyptians do to warrent the upheavels. Follow history and these disasters and explain their cause.

It is the safer belief that Humans survive despite natures ravages. Look at the frequency of hurricanes and their devastations. Ask sailors, when the wind begins to howl if they are humbled.

You can make many arguments from the reference of physics, but the equations are too complex. Between sun spots, and planetary play we are left in a quandry. We are nothing more than ants not knowing where the next disater will arrive and with little knowledge of the very core of this planet.

Very well put and an interesting view on things.

Hey, here's an idea. If we can cause tsunamis to wipe out those islands.. Why can't we create a huge sand tornado and take care of the terrorists?

I love conspiracy theory, I have a few of my own. Nothing this elaborate I'm afraid. I mean, you can do things like Cloud seeding but that rarely works.

This is really like saying we (the US) own the bermuda (spelling?) triangle and use it to rid the world of evil by making them fly over it. Ha. It really just goes to show you that you can find a puzzle that fits in every scenario. But we should all remember, just because you can make it fit, doesn't mean it's the truth

The guy's a certifiable lunatic looking for attention. The number of fallacies and outright lies in that load of bunk just staggers the imagination. Sadly, there are people is this world gullible enough to believe it. :-(

I am not talkinag about technicality. He is still an Aussie, and he kids still live in Australia running the Aussie side of things.

Neither am I, although I did say 'technically' which I guess is misleading. He is an American...plain and simple. He is as much an American as any other American. If you want to get technical (which you say you don't, but obviously are), I'm not an American, I'm a German. And I suppose in that respect, there are no such things as Americans -- we all came from other places and decided to live here.

So your reasoning for saying he's not an American is because he has kids that live in Australia -- that's definately irrelevant at any point.

No, I say it because he was born and raised here. I am not doubting he is an American, but he still has a lot of Australia in him. He has probably lived in both countries just as long at the other.

I just dont think you can always draw a line and say someone is from one place.

Both countries made him who he is today.

If the Terminator can be governor of California than what does it matter where the guy is from?

And even more sadly, there are stupid people who will give him money.

Not sure - but rupert murdoch likely has australian citizenship too. He certainly doesn't seem to have any immigration problems over here :P. Up until this year news limited was still listed exclusively on the australian stock exchange.

Though in ideological terms he is very much a republican american.
