I am simply posting this message to see if anyone who lives down in Florida can get a picture of a Manatee for the A-Z Animal Co-Operative. See Animals A-Z Thread in this forum.

Well dag nab it..go get a picture for it and submit it using thread 4 a-z wildlife...needs the letter "m" to be filled. She has a couple options already..But I bet if someone came up with a really nice shot of a Manatee..it would be very sweet if it happened.(:

I lived in FL for 26 years and only once saw a manatee in a canal, AND it was only the top of it. So, sadly, it's not that easy to just go snap a photo of it.
I live in CA now and it'd be like you asking me to go get a photo of a mountain lion or bear.

It is seafood. I lived there when Dad was stationed at the Naval base. |

Heehee, sadly, I work til 4:30pm PST and so I wouldn't be able to find one by then, but I have a camera with me at all times just in case!

Hey hey, yeah they do. It's hard to get pictures though, the glass is smeared with the fingerprints of small children, making it moreso translucent than transparent. |

I may be able to help. I live close to Blue Springs State Park in Volusia County. There are droves of manatees in the crystal clear water. They are not all that easy to photograph, but I'm willing to try.
