Drew -

My "sellout" comment was entirely, bitterly, overwhelmingly sarcastic. I have no opinion on your decision to change the wording of the challenge and was really only trying to make light of a very anal situation.

My apologies if you took me seriously.

Well, I liked the addition and I think a challenge where everybody is pushed to concentrate on conveying a message would be very interesting. Of course you can always have a message, but without a general consensus to do so it's like one half photographs eggs and the other half hammers. Now a pretty but message-less photo can be as good as a message-conveying photo.

Someone said it will muddy up voting because everybody sees a photo differently. True, but exactly _this_ is change challenge. You'll only score high when your photo is so good that your message is understood by many people.

Anyway. Don't worry Drew. There will be always people pro and contra, so you can't make it right for everybody.

I also think the Despair challenge already was a good "message" challenge, since emotions always are kind of messages. I hope we can have more like that, though.

I am somewhat more clear on the subject now. At first I was thinking that a "Metaphorical" connotation meant that you should NOT have an actual "bridge" in the picture but the concept was "bridging" things together. One Idea that came to mind was the shaking hands of a black and white person metaphorically suggesting the bridging of differences in thoughts. Would that idea satisfy the theme?
