Here are a couple designs for these projects...

I really like these two designs for the project. The black and white will look terrific and that particular colour of 'creamy yellow' you're showing here for the version with coloured photo submission should complement any colours very well.

I like the design apart from the bottom line, the blank black at the right seem to unbalance the look.

Is it possible to change it? What do you think of this?

Slight change

I thought that the black bit at the end of the first designs might have been intended to be a good place to put some words of some sort - to complete the poster?

That is the objective. I plan to put something else in that empty space. I just haven't figured out exactly what yet :)

George - just the 3rd line in yours is 'offset'. The first two are 'in line'. Wondering if an 'offset' approach could be applied throughout to create a balance - if going for that? I guess you'd have to remove the frame bit and create a bit more space for that?

DPC Logo? Link to my print gallery? : )

I would be completely supportive of putting a DPC logo on both of those if the site admins would approve of it. I would need a high resolution piece of artwork to use. All of the photographers on this project are DPC people.

I didn`t realise that John has a plan for the blank :)

I just thought the offset bottom line helped to balance it up.

They've approved it for similar uses ... I will ask if you want. I think I already have a version downloaded -- if I can find it I'll email it to you.

That would be excellent... just make sure it's OK.

I understand your thinking George and admire the fact you made an alternative suggestion. It's always good to have different perspectives and ideas on things.

I sent them an email. If it's OK, they may send it to you directly.

Have you gotten all the releases?

I have gotten one so far, but I haven't checked my mail since Monday. I'll check it later tonight or tomorrow.

I spent yesterday looking for "M"

All are unedited except for reducing for posting here.

The one`s below are some off the wall one`s.

First is the Golden Hinde ship, second; gates to the Globe Theatre, third; part of the beams in the Globe Theatre, I don`t think the last two work that well but posted all the same.

One problem I seem to be having is fitting the "M" into the 2.75" wide by 4.5" high format; "M" seem to be the widest letter in the alphabet :)

Any comments on these "M"s and any help on fitting them into the format.

Harold, fitting them into the format will likely require shooting them with the format in mind. The horizontals definitely won't work. The second image on the top row might though.

Yeah, I'm having the same issue with my 'x' idea below...The format really does have to be top-of-mind when shooting for this project.

That`s my favourite at the moment :) luckily none of the places are to far away to re-shoot :)

You probably just need to compose them vertically with the camera and don't shoot too tight, then the crop can take care of the rest.

Went out on Thursday, looking for some G's out in town, these are the image I found. Does anyone have a favorite or constructive criticism on any of these 4 objects I found.

Right now I am leaning towards the second picture or the bench as my favorite. But we have a few more weeks before the assignment is due.
