Would it be possible to allow each user to filter/block certain other users so they don't see comments, posts and can't receive PMs from them? It's not a big deal if not, but there are 1 or 2 foul mouthed folks (I avoid saying kids because MOST 20 year olds are far more mature than whom I speak of) that seem to have all the knowledge of the ages (in their own opinion) that I could live a long and happy life not having to see posts from anymore. It's not a big deal, but if it could be done, I'd be a happy camper...

ive been waiting for something like that. people like you want to ignore people like me. then people like me want to ignore people like you. optional segregation is the way to go

I don't like the that kind of "personal" censorship either!

i wasnt thinking of you either, myqyl. just old vs young, young vs old. eventually, youve got 3 groups.

group one is only voting/commenting on group one.
group two is only voting/commenting on group two.
group three, the smallest group, votes on everyone.

Yep, that was a funny remark and made me laugh out loud. I think without comments like that, the site would become boring!

Please, no censorship. The really offensive stuff can be monitored. This is the public and we get all kinds of people here. People can get crude but I think they are mostly just having fun. If I don't like something or don't agree with something I don't find it very hard to ignore. I will draw the line at real offensive talk, however, but I think that is already being monitored.

he wasnt really going for censorship, just the ability for each user to block other users they find offensive

<nods> Yep... I can filter it out effectively by just ignoring posts by some folks, but I thought it would be nice to be able to block it so I don't need to worry if my kid looks over my shoulder. If it's too hard to do, or if folks object to the idea (not sure why, but it seems some are), then it truely isn't a big deal...
