Thumbnails in threads no longer open in a new tab. Not sure how I feel about that. It makes sense, but it's been opening a new tab for 24 years and now I have to retrain myself. Still, I give it 👍👍

I was going to make a protest parody, but I found one I can reuse. Click it. ...go on. ...you think I made this up don't you?

it worked like it has always worked when i opened a photo from my profile page ..

Not from your profile page - I am talking about thumbnails IN FORUM POSTS - they used to always open in a new tab, but now they open in the same tab.

hmmm. you're right. you can always right click and open in new tab, but it is rather inconvenient having to remember.

They've never opened in a new tab for me, at least as far as my failing brain can remember. Right-click is the trick and always has been. I'm a well-trained right-clicker EXCEPT in the ballot box.

They used to for me as well, using Firefox on Windows 11 -- haven't tried with other browsers or the new skins.

To be clear: Thumbnails in the forums have ALWAYS opened in a new tab (in Chrome). As of a week or so ago, they open in the same tab. I think they always should have behaved this way, but I was so used to it. If I want them to open in a new tab, I can just CTRL+click or SHIFT+click to open in a new window. Or right-click, select-from-menu. The old behavior had no work-around that I'm aware of. Now with so many people saying it never behaved like that for them has convinced me that it's a Mandela effect, which means I have successfully jumped timelines. 🤔 Now I just have to figure out if this one is better or worse...
