Can anyone help me to understand the subject (Authority) for the current Open Challenge? My understanding in English is a bit poor!

I'm sure there will be some disagreement among those who understand English well, but I'll give it a try. Others will surely fill in what I miss.

It appears from the challenge discription that they are thinking in terms of "rules & regulations." I'm guessing we'll see a lot of "no this-or-that" signs, etc. We may see some photos of the 10 Commandments since they are so controversial at this time in America. We'll also probably see some policemen and others who enforce the laws.

A lot of the understanding in English of authority depends on your world-view. From a Christian perspective, which will be a small minority, the authority of God will be represented by the Bible, church, etc.

I'm guessing "authority figures" will be represented: boss, parents, etc.

I probably just confused you more, but I tried to help :D

Authority generally would be anyone or anything that makes or enforces rules.

Government officials, police, military, judges, all would be authority. Teachers and principals could be authority in schools. A stop sign or traffic light might be an expression of authority.

Good luck!

I think after having 4 (non fitting the subjekt)comments on my picture that you don´t are open minded about this... I thought at is like Power to do something (like the police is in fact) ,and all this 4 comments tells me that you guys can´t see connection to the challange... In my mind this makes sence but I don´t blame you.... It has nothing though to do with police but something that I think have power to make changes in peoples lifes
