large number of comments in B/W challenge

With 107 votes, I already have just about as many comments as I've had in the last couple challenges. I thought I was going to get only a couple of comments, especially with the number of entries, and especially with my completely average 5.1 score.

The LAST thing I want to do is discourage anybody from commenting, since they have all been really helpfull this time around. Anybody else seeing higher than expected number of comments?

Keep up the good work, voters!!!! It makes me want to dig in there and comment a bunch, too!

HEHEEEH...with the execption of the score (since my photo is always going to be the blue ribbon winner when I submit the photo), that is exactly what I expecte to see for my overall stats at the end of the voting period : Low number of votes, and low number of comments.

Despite my lower score, all comments were positve. Had what I thought was a creative idea, apparently not going over well? I'm confused by low score/positive comments....has anyone else experienced this?

I'm fairly excited about this as I got 4.4 on my first submission, then a 4.8. I'm hoping to continue my trend of improvement ;).

I feel pretty lucky because I was on a trip when this challenge started and I took a bunch of pictures. I was reviewing them and found this one, changed it to b&w and thought, "that looks pretty nice!" Then I found out there's a b&w challenge going on, so didn't take me too long to enter it :)

14 comments so far for me, and I'm not in ribbon territory. That's an enormous number for one day, and a LOT higher than I expected with this many entries.

I already have 4 comments, which is amazing since I topped off at 7 last challenge... Of course I am happily commenting away too, but I fear some folks are gonna be kinda disgusted with me because I'm one of those anal people who expects to see just black, white, and shades of gray.

I've observed a relationship between the rating and the # of comments, but rarely between the # of enteries and # of comments. Would be interesting if this site had some kind of a mega-stats page that was updated nightly / weekly / whetver to show unusual correlations accross the entire population.
