Create a still life whose items are no more than 2" on any side. You can use as many of these small items as you wish. But each item can be no more than 2" in any direction.

I'm not attached to any particular measurement, but I like this concept. I vote yes.

I like it also. Question though; what if my small items are on a dish/container that sits on a table? Does the dish count as an "item"?

Yes. The dish is an item.

describe it thus:

"Create a still life of small things. The smaller the better."

then let the ruthless voters enforce the smallness.

Yes. The dish is an item.

:-(
What about the table?

if the small things are small enough they could just float/recline/cavort in space...

The idea is a flat space. If you're showing the table as the table with legs and everything, then it's an item. If it's just a counter or a tabletop for the things to sit on, I wouldn't think anybody would consider it an item.

I see we have a Plato in our midst. Worry not, Plato, once a challenge is created, she who created it no longer has any power over it.

Poems work the same way.

my table will levitate or maybe I will start with a tabula rasa.

Plato, Potato.

As long as we're being Platonic, can we make the really small things look really, really big? I see a PezHenge trying to manifest :-)

Yes to Wendy's suggestion, just as she suggested it.

to all the non-Americans
no more than 2" on any side = no more than 5.08 cm

2" is smaller than I thought! I had several scenes photographed that I thought I could choose from - until I actually measured the components. Back to the drawing board.
