Thank you to everyone who sponsored me in the MS Walk for 2002. With your help, we raised over $500 to help in the search for a cure. The support I received in my efforts for this cause was truly overwhelming, and I deeply appreciate everyone's contributions and encouragement. I've set a more ambitious goal of $1,000 for the walk on 4 May 2003, so I'm depending even more on your support this year.

The 8.6 mile walk (I ended up taking the long route, since that's what the people I walked with did) was a challenge for me last year, but a lot of fun. If I raise the $1,000 this year, I'll push my limits even further next year by committing to the Challenge walk, which is 50 miles over 3 days.

I've set an ambitious goal for myself, so I need your support now to make it a reality. Please click here to go my National Multiple Sclerosis Society pledge page and pledge your support using their secure servers. If you prefer to donate by cash or check, please email me at mswalk2003@clubjuggle.com for contact information.

Multiple sclerosis affects lives every moment of every year. At any time, someone with MS may suddenly be unable to stand up, hug their child or see a friend across the room. On 4 May 2003, I’ll be participating in the National MS Society’s annual MS Walk to help raise funds for research and local programs. It’s a small thing for me to do for people who face the devastating and relentless effects of MS every day. Step by step, I hope to bring the National MS Society closer to a cure. Will you help by sponsoring me in this year’s MS Walk? With your generous support, we can end the devastating effects of MS, sooner rather than later.

Once again, thank you for your generosity and encouragement.

Thank you!

-Terry Auspitz

What is MS?

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a disease that randomly attacks your nervous system, wearing away the control you have over your body. Symptoms may range from numbness to paralysis and blindness. Most people are diagnosed with MS between the ages of 20 and 40, but the unpredictable physical and emotional effects can last for the rest of your life.

Multiple sclerosis diagnosis is a complex process. If you experience symptoms such as blurred vision, numbness in the arms or legs, unusual fatigue or difficulty walking, you should consult your family physician or neurologist.

For more information about the National MS Society, or to sign up for the walk, please visit //www.nationalmssociety.org.

That's the main reason I did the walk last year and again this year. Knowing you and having people tell me about friends and relatives with MS reminds me that this is worthwhile.

Love you too.

I will send you a check, Terry.

Question: Do we pledge a desired amount, or by the mile?

You can count me in.

You guys are awesome, each and every one of you and that includes everyone who has posted and several who have pledged support, promised a pledge, or were unable to pledge but offered words of support, but who have not posted here. So far I'm nearly halfway to my goal ($481 of $1,000), and looking at a very real possibility of blowing away a goal that I thought would be a stretch to meet.

Karen, to answer your question, the pledges are a flat amount, not per mile. I'll send you a mailing address by PM. Gotcha, did you want the address as well or were you planning to pledge online?

Thanks again to all of you. Your support means more to me than I can put into words.

Unless it's raining hard that day, I'll bring my camera, and the pictures will be posted.

I've sent the address to everyone that requested it. Just let me know when you mail the check so I know when to look for it.

Thanks again, everyone, we're over halfway there! With two months to go I've already collected $511, more than the total I collected for last year's walk ($504).

Hey, thanks!

The fastest/most efficient is to pledge online using this link to National MS Society's secure server. You'll need a debit or dredit card. If you prefer to pledge by check, I've PM'ed you with my address.

Terry,

I am so happy that you are doing this. Depending on what day of the week it is, I might be persuaded to come take pictures of it!

That would be awesome! The walk is on a Saturday, and the walk site is not far from a place where we could catch a train into the Philadelphia if you like.

I've got the pledge sheet, and am taking pledges from co workers for you and the cause. We're scrounging up some bucks for you! Great work to Terry and everyone. This is a great thing that's happening. :)

Thanks, Heather!

I really appreciate that you volunteered to ask your coworkers, and that they are helping out. We're over 70% of the way to my goal, so now I'm anxious to see how much we can blow it away by. :)

With over 2 months to go, the pledges total $200 more than I had on walk day 2002. I'm really amazed at how this community has come together to help make that happen.
